We are glad you are here!
At St. John's we appreciate it can be daunting going to a church service for the first time or after having been away for a while. St. John’s is a small church with a big heart and a very warm welcome, we try to make our Sunday services as welcoming as we can. You can sit anywhere you like, latecomers are welcome even if the service has already begun, there will still be someone at the door to welcome you & help. St John’s has 2 Sunday Services at 8am & 10am. Our 10.00am service is the most popular with families. SPARKS! children’s ministry (birth to 11 years) runs alongside the 10am service. 1st Sunday of the Month 10am All Age Worship. Lots of fun for all the family, worshipping together with a more contemporary feel. After the 10.00am services, tea and coffee are served and there’s plenty of opportunity to chat to people. Refreshments are free of charge however, donations can be made if you so wish in the dish available. Church is not just on Sunday though. There are other services in midweek too, there is also a coffee morning where everyone is welcome and is a great way to meet others who attend St. John’s and other activities & events many for families and children. Please check out our Weekly Time Table & Events. We hope this helps explains a little of what you can expect at St. John’s, please do call in we would love to meet you.
Access and Services: The way in to all our services is through the main door of the church which faces the Pot & Glass. For disabled access use the path to the church from near the Parish Hall. (This is the access most people take). There is no church car park, however, you may use Parish Hall car park and parking is free in the surrounding streets. Please park considerately! The Toilet is situated through the door at the back right of the church with disabled facilities and baby changing facilities (nappies also available).
Dress: Most people dress informally but there are a few who like to come a bit smarter. It honestly doesn’t matter - come however you feel most comfortable.
Offerings: We do pass round an offering during our Sunday Services, but, please do not worry about this, there is no obligation.
